This week, except for the tournament in Doha, Qatar and the one in Los Cabos, Mexico, there is a tournament in Brazil. But it is from the series ATP 500, which makes it the biggest one this week. Lots of serious players will participate but normally, the majority of them are clay court specialists. The leader in the scheme is Carloz Alcaraz, while the second-seeded is Cameron Norrie. Actually, the scheme is similar to the one in Buenos Aires from last week’s competition, won exactly by Facundo Diaz Acosta, who will play here in the first round against Stan Wawrinka.
Facundo Diaz Acosta vs Stan Wawrinka Betting Preview
As mentioned above, Facundo Diaz Acosta won the title in Buenos Aires, something which surprised everyone in the tennis world. I was surprised as well, though I thought there might be a surprise in the final; that’s why my prediction was over 21.5 games (which was wrong because of Jarry’s poor game in the final). This week, Diaz Acosta will play in Rio, which is from the biggest category, but he will have the tough task of facing Stan Wawrinka, who is one of the most uncomfortable opponents for round 1.
Wawrinka is not experiencing great tennis at the moment, but he had one good win last week against a good opponent – Pedro Cachin. Unfortunately, this is his only victory this season, and he is still looking for the second one. I think this is his best chance to do it against a player who played 5 matches last week and is coming to this tournament in a little bit more exaggerated mood, expecting to continue demolishing everyone on the court. I watched the game between Wawrinka and Cachin last week, and I can say that the Swiss player was better and he showed some classy tennis. As a first-round game, I am not worried about the physical condition of Stan, which will be a problem for the next rounds.

Betting Tip – Facundo Diaz Acosta vs Stan Wawrinka
As you probably guessed, I will go here for Wawrinka to win the match. Facundo Diaz Acosta is not among the best players who can play great matches, reach finals, and play another tournament in consecutive weeks. Moreover, this is not a Challenger, and he will face real difficulties in winning against a serious opponent like Wawrinka. If I am correct, we might even see a win for the Swiss player in straight sets, something which will not surprise anyone. Of course, there is no need of risking betting on 2-0 for Stan, odds are pretty good to be backed on clear victory, too.
