We just ran an article about the parties Stake works with on the sponsorship front and what these partnerships entail. We think this is a pretty interesting content topic for GOSUBETTING. However, there are not many operators engaging in these kinds of deals. We think they are important because they show that the online bookies that choose to invest in these agreements have some decent financial backing, reassuring users they can pay out big wins. Not cashing out or not doing it swiftly is one of the main issues in the online gambling landscape and a top cause for gamblers to give up on a site.
Here, we will look into Roobet, the Australian-themed crypto casino with a library of around five thousand games and a BETBY-powered sports betting page. Roobet opened its virtual doors in 2019, and if you check out its help center, you will see that it is open to working with established brands and influencers. It welcomes interested individuals or groups to reach out to the site’s marketing department at [email protected]. Now, if they are of a certain stature and meet Roobet’s criteria for a mutually beneficial relationship, a deal may get struck.
Naturally, the parties listed here are not ones that sent out emails to this platform’s staff but higher echelon personalities that likely Roobet contacted for sponsorships, and we detail their alliances here.
Snoop Dog
The most prominent and highly publicized sponsorship Roobet has ever entered into is the one with legendary rapper Snoop Dogg. Born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., Snoop is a California artist who burst onto the musical scene with his 1993 album – Doggystyle, which received quadruple platinum certification. It was released by the notorious label Death Row Records and features top ten singles Gin and Juice and What’s My Name. Over the years, and especially in the early 2000s, Snoop expanded into TV and movies. He was the host of his sketch comedy show on MTV named Doggy Fizzle Televizzle while starring and co-starring in many Hollywood movies like Boones, directed by Ernest R. Dickerson.
In March 2023, Roobet put a surprise press release stating they had signed Snoop Dog to a partnership contract through the brand’s parent company – Raw Entertainment. In the release, Snoop got quoted as saying that the partnership feels natural because he feels the Roobet team is doing something different in the world of online entertainment, and that is something he has been doing for years via his live stream. Hence, he noted that both parties clicked on their love to do novel things. Matt Duea, Roobet’s co-founder, added that Snoop’s a real visionary, and with him at their side, the future of digital entertainment is super bright for this crypto casino and sportsbook.
Snoop now bears the title of Roobet’s Chief Ganjaroo Officer, and he has two games featuring him pop up on this platform. The first is Snoop’s HotBox, a crash variation where you must bail out of an active round before a blunt crashes. In April 2024, Snoop’s High Rollers came out, a Gaming Corps creation, a 576-betway slot with a 3-4-4-4-3 layout. It got heavily promoted on Roobet, as it is available exclusively here.
Charles Oliveira
Do Bronx, Brazilian Charles Oliveira da Silva has been with Roobet before Snoop Dog since mid-2022. For those unfamiliar with MMA, Oliveria is the ext UFC Lightweight Champion. His story in the world’s premium MMA organization is an inspirational one, as Charles entered the UFC at age twenty-one in 2010 and quickly got a reputation as a crafty submission artist who had a tendency to give up in fights when things became tough for him. Yet, in 2018, he went on an impressive eight-fight win streak and beat Michael Chandler for the vacant lightweight crown. In that fight and his two following ones, he showed previously undisplayed tenacity, coming back from adversity to win.
Roobet, in the past, has also worked with Mexican ex-Flyweight champ Brandon Moreno, bantamweight contender Chito Vera, and current light heavy-weight title-holder – Alex Pereira. Moreno even had a Champions Corner Podcast financed by Roobet, who also organized two other MMA-related shows, Diego Limaќs Champions Corner Podcast and Jason House’s – On The House. The last episode of Champions Corner Podcast got published in December 2023, and we should note that this is mainly a Spanish-speaking show.
Like with Moreno and Periera, Roobet’s official YouTube channel has several fight week blogs that detail Charles Olivera getting ready for his UFC contests, and it seems like this athlete and Roobet are in it for the long haul, as they still seem to have a fruitful relationship, after two years of working together.
The UFC
We mentioned in our Stake sponsorship article that that hub is in bed with the UFC and has been working with the Ultimate Fighting Championship since around 2001. Well, Roobet’s social casino arm – Roobet.Fun, too began to collaborate with the UFC in the summer of 2023. Thus, from that point, Roobet.Fun’s branding has been presented on select UFC Pay-Per-Views and Fight Nights. On top of this, this social gambling brand has been a featured partner in UFC’s YouTube show Embedded, which also gets presented across the UFC’s other platforms.
According to Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships for the UFC, Grant Norris-Jones, Roobet’s social offshoot has a forward-thinking approach that fans of this MMA organization enjoy.
For those wondering – what is a social casino? It is essentially a gambling site where people do not stake money but deposit funds for which they get credits they can later stake. They also get in-game currencies for completing tasks and as login bonuses. Various crypto gaming/betting operators, like Stake and Roobet, have exploited this concept to enter the US market, where they cannot operate due to their foreign licenses and acceptance of virtual currencies.
The UFC-Roobet connection is not surprising because, as explained above, this casino/sportsbook has deep roots within the MMA community, roots that are likely to expand in the coming years.
