In September 2023, one of Italy’s most storied football clubs, SSC Napoli, announced that it has entered into what it called a groundbreaking partnership with Rollbit, aiming to boost community interactions and fan engagements between two dynamic entities.

Footie fans may know that the SSC in SSC Napoli stands for Società Sportiva Calcio and that this is a team from the city of Naples, one formed in 1926. It has a reputation for being a club with some of the most ardent fans in Italy, usually ranking high in terms of Serie A attendance figures. Its stadium bares the name Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, in honor of Argentina’s superstar Diego Maradona, one of football’s biggest legends, who played for Naploi from 1984 to 1991, where he moved from Barcelona for a fee of £6.9 million.

Rollbit became SSC Napoli’s official European betting partner, starting in the 2023/24 Serie A season, and pre the agreed-upon terms, its should assume this role until the end of the 2024/25 season. Rollbit’s branding appeared on Napoli’s pitch-side boards during the club’s matches in European competitions through this agreement. Sadly, that will not be the case in the current season, because Napoli had a horrible 2023/24, finishing tenth in the league. It is worth pointing out that SSC Napoli also works with Betsson Group’s StarCasino Sport, the club’s Official Infotainment Partner. Rollbit’s collaborations try to merge the passionate fanbases of these two brands through matchday giveaways, merchandise offers, different types of promos, and much more, with the pair trying to capitalize on commercial opportunities in the sports betting sector.

FaZe Clan

Those not into eSports probably have no idea who Faze Clan is or why they’re joining Rollbit’s sponsorship fold, which is essential. So, for those readers, we will give a bit of background on this organization in the same way we run down Southampton F.C.’s and SSC Napoli’s histories.

FaZe, or FaZe Clan, is a Los Angeles-based organization founded in May 2010. It is an eSports collective that started as FaZe Sniping and was originally a Call of Duty clan. Today, FaZe has players competing in a wide range of games, including Valorant, Fortnite, PUBG, Super Smash Bros, Rainbow Six Siege, Halo Infinite, and Ultimate. In October 2023, its parent company was bought out by technology, information, and media company GameSquare.

In late August 2024, FaZe expanded its already established multi-year, multi-million-dollar sponsorship with Rollbit, which began in January of 2024. The team-up primarily focuses on FaZe Clan’s Counter-Strike team, and it strives to enhance Rollbit’s visibility in the eSports community, especially outside the U.S. Backed by famed investors such as Jerry Jones, the owner of the NFL franchise – the Dallas Cowboys, GameSquare has prioritized integrating FaZe Clan, divesting noncore assets, and leveraging proprietary media assets en route to further expansion of this eSports asset.

For the second quarter of 2024, GameSquare has reported a 24% revenue jump. So, few analysts doubt it will stop growing and fail to engage younger audiences. It too has been very proactive in securing novel partnerships. In our eyes, the main ones worth mentioning that this entity has struck recently are deals with the likes of Topgolf, 5-hour ENERGY and Dairy MAX.
