Despite dropping down the table, Dortmund remains a strong contender for a top-four finish in the Bundesliga. Their next challenge comes against Hoffenheim, who have had a lacklustre season and currently sit just above the relegation zone. While Hoffenheim’s form may appear unremarkable, they should not be underestimated, as they can still pose a significant threat.
Borussia Dortmund Team News
A draw at home against Bayern Munich isn’t the worst result, but Dortmund would have preferred a win. Following that, they earned an away draw against Gladbach, which marks an improvement in their away form. However, midweek brought a tough challenge as Nuri Sahin’s side faced Barcelona at home, suffering their first home defeat of the season in any competition. Despite that setback, Dortmund’s home form in the Bundesliga remains strong, with the 1-1 draw against Bayern being the only home match in which they’ve scored fewer than two goals. Yet, for all their attacking prowess, the Black and Yellows have struggled defensively, with just three clean sheets to their name this season.
Hoffenheim Team News
Hoffenheim’s season is unfolding disappointingly, with struggles in both the Bundesliga and Europa League. Eliminated from the DFB Pokal as well, Christian Ilzer’s squad must find their rhythm and start collecting points if they hope to stay in Germany’s top flight. While one could argue that balancing domestic and continental duties has been challenging, this is not Hoffenheim’s first experience in such competitions, and they should have learned to manage this by now. The team’s last two Bundesliga results were a loss to Mainz and a draw with Freiburg, but they did manage to secure an impressive win over RB Leipzig prior to that. However, that victory remains their only one in the last five league matches.
Head-to-Head-Games
Borussia holds a strong advantage in the head-to-head statistics, having won four of the last five encounters with Hoffenheim. However, the most recent match at Signal Iduna Park was claimed by Die Kraichgauer. Historically, matches at Dortmund’s stadium tend to be high-scoring, with three of the last five visits from Hoffenheim featuring over 3.5 goals and both teams finding the back of the net.

Borussia Dortmund – Hoffenheim Betting Prediction
Minor recent setbacks are unlikely to overshadow Borussia’s impressive home form. Nuri Sahin’s side has turned Signal Iduna Park into a fortress, remaining unbeaten at home in the Bundesliga. I don’t believe Hoffenheim will be the first to take all three points from Dortmund, given their poor away record and the fact they are yet to win on the road. All of Hoffenheim’s points away from home have come through draws. With that in mind, I’m backing a Borussia Dortmund victory in a game with over 2.5 goals.
