The race for the Premier League title is still ongoing, and Liverpool is in pole position to claim silverware this season. Despite playing at home, their next test will be a tough one – West Ham United. The Hammers will arrive in less than stellar form of their own, but judging from their results, even the top teams in the league experience a difficult time against them.
Liverpool Team News
Liverpool’s dream season suddenly turned sour in the span of just a couple of games. First came UCL disappointment against PSG, which saw Arne Slot’s side eliminated from the competition. Then came the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, which Liverpool also lost. What followed was a narrow win in the derby with Everton, but right after that came another loss, this time against Fulham in the Premier League. In total, Liverpool has lost 3 of its 4 recent fixtures, with the team losing a cup final and being eliminated from the UCL. At the very least, they are still the main candidates for the Premier League title, and despite the recent setbacks, they are formidable at home, winning their last 5 league matches at home.
West Ham United Team News
West Ham’s position in the league table is something best forgotten by fans and management, as the team is 16th, with no chances to secure continental football next season, but also safe from relegation. This is a significant fall from grace in comparison to recent seasons, where the Hammers reached the latter stages of both the Europa and Conference Leagues, even managing to lift a Conference League trophy in the process. Their trip to Anfield won’t do them any favors now, as West Ham have won just 4 of their 21 away matches in all competitions and will be up against a Liverpool side that has experienced several bad results recently and will want to get out of that loop.
Head-to-Head-Games
Liverpool has a firm advantage in the H2H with West Ham, as Arne Slot’s men have 8 wins across the last 10 meetings with the Hammers. West Ham have but a win to their name in this period. A total of 8 games from the last 10 H2H encounters also produced over 2.5 goals.

Liverpool – West Ham United Betting Prediction
For this game, I am going with a win for Liverpool and over 2.5 goals. H2H statistics between them and West Ham favor such an outcome, as it seems to be a common one. Moreover, I think that Liverpool will do anything in their power to win here and forget the past few weeks, which have brought them nothing but negative emotions. They are still at the forefront of the Premier League, and the team will do everything in its power to win it.
Although West Ham’s results indicate that they are no pushovers, despite their unruly league position, I don’t think they will be able to take anything from this game. Their form on the road has been lacklustre at best. Anfield is also a ground that the team doesn’t enjoy trips to, as evidenced by their results there.
