It has been more of the same for Pep Guardiola and his dominant Manchester City side – picking up win after win and being the prime suspect for yet another Premier League title. But Brentford has surprised some with their good start and might just pose a challenge to the behemoth that the Citizens are.
Manchester City Team News
Three wins from their first three matchday means that Manchester City have had a perfect start to their season. Yet, this comes as no surprise for it is the norm for them and the standard to which Pep Guardiola holds his team. Against Brentford City will look to make it 4 in a row and they have every chance to do so. Erling Haaland has been on fire since the start of the season for both club and country and the Norwegian has been scoring goals a plenty. An even more impressive stat is that all of City’s league wins thus far have come with at least a 2-goal margin and this certainly points to a solid team effort as well.
Brentford Team News
With more than a decent start to the season for Brentford, who have picked up 6 points in 3 games, optimism in the team and the fans seem to be high. Despite Ivan Toney’s big-money move to Saudi Arabia, the void he left in attack seems to have been filled, as it has been the defensive aspect of Brentford’s game that has let them down lately as the team has conceded in all of their starting 3 Premier League fixtures. And while it is The Bees that last defeated City at home, it must also be stated that Thomas Frank’s side has not been keeping clean sheets on their travels to Manchester as well.
Head-to-Head-Games
Rather surprisingly, the recent head-to-head between Manchester City and Brentford is not as one-sided as might be expected – 3 wins for The Citizens and 2 wins for The Bees. One of those losses came at home for Pep Guardila’s men and it could be said that Brentford is a team that City often sees some issues with.

Manchester City – Brentford Betting Prediction
While Brentford has had a fine start and has a respectable record against City, I think that Pep Guardiola’s men will take the 3 points here. Their main goal threat, Erling Haaland, has been on fire recently and Manchester City have won all of their 3 league games thus far with a minimum margin of 2 goals. This is something that looks very likely against Brentford as well, especially as their defence has been leaking goals regularly as of late. Thus, my pick is for a -1.5 handicap for Manchester City.
