A 2-2 draw at the Johan Cruyff Arena last week showed us that Bodø/Glimt are not to be underestimated, lest you pay. Ajax found this then and is now in an arguably weaker position to qualify for the next round. It will be a tough trip to Norway for them and they must show their very best if they want to continue.
FK Bodø/Glimt Team News
Bodø/Glimt are a breath of fresh air on the European scene as in recent years their performances have won them many accolades. Their style is attacking-minded, and the Norwegian team often punches above its weight. Despite being in a preparatory phase for the Eliteserien, Bodø/Glimt still displayed good things last time out. Yes, Ajax are having a troubled season, they are managing to pick themselves up, but they are still scoring 2 away goals in more than good. Interestingly enough, in the group stage of the Conference League, the Norwegians had 5 games with over 2.5 goals. Additionally, they won 2 of their 3 home games, scoring at least 2 games in those wins, but conceding a goal in all of their fixtures on their turf.
Ajax Team News
For Ajax last week was a tough one. After the draw with Bodø/Glimt, they were also stung by a late NEC goal. Interestingly the result was 2-2 again with drama in stoppage time. Their recent form for Ajax has not been great. In their last 5 competitive games, there has been just 1 win for the Dutch, 3 draws and a win. Four of those games were goal-rich with over 2.5 goals in them. A worrying trend for Ajax is that despite them finding the way to goal regularly, their defence is often leaking goals. Ajax have not kept a clean sheet in their last 5 competitive games.
Head-to-Head-Games
Last week was the first time that Ajax and Bodø/Glimt met. It was certainly an entertaining fixture, one that the Norwegian team will probably be sorry to not have won.
FK Bodø/Glimt – Ajax Betting Prediction
Much like the first game, I believe that there will be goals here. Over 2.5 and from both teams, to be precise. The result from the first game leaves the second tie open. Bodø/Glimt are a strong host, but they do seem to concede goals. Ajax’s profile is quite similar – a lot of scoring, but conceding just as much. Add to that the result from the first match 2-2 and the fact that it is open for grabs for both teams and I believe that picking goals here is a solid option.
