The rivalry between AC Milan and Juventus is one of the oldest and most celebrated ones in Italian Football. It has always been a game with a special vibe and one that has played a significant role in the standings of each team. In a season where Milan struggles for consistency and Juventus is just 2 points from the top of the Serie A, we can rest assured that both sides will seek a much-needed win here.
AC Milan Team News
It truly has been a season of ups and downs for Milan. Their results right before the international pause perfectly capture their season thus far – a spectacular 1-3 away win over Real Madrid, followed by a 3-3 draw with Cagliari. Paulo Fonseca’s team bounces between going toe to toe with the best in Europe and winning to underperforming against Serie A strugglers. It is this lack of consistency that has marked The Rossoneri’s season and is the prime culprit for the 6-point distance between them and the league’s top 6. Despite losing their most recent home league game to Napoli, Milan’s return to the San Siro is bound to bring confidence to the team as before the Napoli game, the team won their previous 3 league outings here.
Juventus Team News
The Serie A table is quite peculiar right now. Despite heading into round 13 at sixth, just one place above Milan, Juventus is only 2 points behind league leaders Napoli. Thiago Motta’s appointment at the helm has brought new life to The Old Lady with the foundations for the good campaign being a solid defence. Juventus boasts the best defensive record with just 7 goals conceded thus far, but in the meantime is also the second-worst goal-scoring team in the league’s top 6. The Bianconeri recorded back-to-back 2-0 victories before the international break and have 9 clean sheets in Serie A. Curiously enough, The Old Lady seems to have found its edge on the road, as Juventus have scored an impressive 9 goals in their 3 away league fixtures.
Head-to-Head-Games
Games between Milan and Juventus tend to be closely contested as the H2H statistics indicate. All of the last 5 meetings between these two sides have produced a low number of goals (under 2.5) with Milan having a slight edge over Juventus with 2 wins in the last 5 meetings as opposed to the latter’s 1 win.

AC Milan – Juventus Betting Prediction
While it might be counter-intuitive, my pick here is for both teams to score. Such an outcome in this derby has not occurred recently, with the last one being in 2021. But I believe that there are sufficient circumstances for that to happen now. Milan have generally performed well in their home fixtures with the 0-2 loss to Napoli being the first time this season in which The Rossoneri failed to score at home. Despite keeping 3 clean sheets in Serie A games before that loss, against tougher opponents such as Juventus, Milan concedes regularly.
Speaking of the Old Lady – their attacking edge on away fixtures has become evident in their last 3 away league fixtures, but the game against Inter also showed cracks in their defensive unit as well. The 2 points gap between them and Napoli warrants a mandatory win here. But a win for Milan is also mandatory here if they are to save and put their domestic season back on track.
All of these reasons lead me to believe that the search for a win here will cause both teams to score in their quest for the 3 points. Moreover, both teams scoring is also an outcome that has not occurred recently here and in my view, it is time for something of the sort.
