Group B1 of the Nations League B is comprised of some curious teams. On paper, all can probably claim to be favourites, albeit after 2 matchday chief among those teams is Georgia. The Czech Republic and Albania are not far behind and the game between them could decide which one of them will have an advantage for the top spot.
Czech Republic Team News
Ivan Hašek was more than relieved to see his team triumph over Ukraine last time out as his Czech selection started off their Nations League campaign horrifically – with a 4-1 away loss to Georgia. Moreover, this win ended the team’s 4-game winless streak and could be used as a foundation for improvement. Despite the recent misfortunes, The Czech team tend to be solid hosts as they are currently on a 6-home game-winning streak. What could cause some concern for them is that this streak started after a 1-1 home draw with none other, than Albania, their current opponent.
Albania Team News
Albania’s path in the Nations League is somewhat reversed than that of the Czech Republic. Their first game against Ukraine was won 2-1 (curiously held in Prague) and what followed was a loss against Georgia on the road. That win over Ukraine also ended a 5 game-winless streak as guests for the team. Heading again to Prague, Albania seems to be well set for a result here. This comes down mostly due to their goоd recent results against the Czech and their admirable performance at the European Championship. Whether the team can continue down that path remains to be seen.
Head-to-Head-Games
The Czech Republic and Albania have played on 3 occasions, with the most recent 2 ending in a draw and a win for Albania. The two teams played one another around the same time in 2023 and Albania managed to snatch a 3-0 win as hosts.
Czech Republic – Albania Betting Prediction
Generally, the Czech Republic display a much better side of themselves at home. This can easily be seen from their home record. Albania, despite some good showings in recent games, is still rather inconsistent, but their away performances haven’t been all that bad. However, my pick here would be for the hosts. I believe that the alleviated pressure following their win over Ukraine will do them wonders. With less stress upon them, I think they can deliver a better performance as they will most certainly like to make up to their supporters for the recent bad results.
