So far, we cannot see any major surprises in the Australian Open, with some small exceptions, of course. On the last day, Tiafoe and Monfils were eliminated, but all other favourites went through. Djokovic and Tsitsipas had some problems, but they managed to qualify for the next stage. The next game I will try to predict is from the second round, and it is between the players Emil Ruusuvuori from Finland and Daniil Medvedev from Russia. The game is scheduled to be played on Rod Laver Arena, and it will be a top-of-the-cream, in my opinion.
Emil Ruusuvuori vs Daniil Medvedev Betting Preview
I will start my analysis with the Finnish player. He is making a great start to the season. In the only tournament where Ruusuvuori has been playing, he reached the final and lost to Andrey Rublev (4-6, 4-6). It seems that during the tennis pause, he worked a lot on his emotions and footwork. Now, Emil looks absolutely a different player, more patient and very stable from the baseline, without searching for the risk too often.
On the other side of the net, we will see Daniil Medvedev, who is one of the best players in the last 3-4 years. He is an absolute machine when it comes to outdoor hard, which we can check easily by his results here in Australia and the other big majors and masters in the USA. Not many people like his style of playing, but it is a winning style, and this must be honoured. The Russian is usually a very strong Grand Slam player, but he had some difficulties in the first round against Terence Atman. Still, he managed to find his game and overcome the resistance of the French. Probably he will do it against Ruusuvuori, too, but this time, the game might be even harder.

Betting Tip – Emil Ruusuvuori vs Daniil Medvedev
I am of the opinion that the Finnish player will be a real threat to Daniil Medvedev in this second-round match for the Australian Open 2024. Ruusuvuori is a great baseliner, and if he has a day, he can achieve a lot on the court. Meanwhile, Medveved is a hard worker, and he enjoys returning the ball again and again and again. Definintely, the majority of long rallies will be won by the Russian but I do not think that the Finnish player will lose so easily his service games, especially after the great season he has been having so far. Over 31-32 games seem legitimate for me, and the odds are just around the line. This can easily happen even in a straight win for Medveved 3-0 (if the sets are with enough games).
