On the second day of the quarter-finals, we will see two fantastic matches, including the game between the players Hubert Hurkacz and Daniil Medvedev. According to the bookies, the Russian is the favourite for winning this match but what do we think? If you are curious to know our pick, scroll down and read our preview, which was specially created after checking all the facts for both players.
Hubert Hurkacz vs Daniil Medvedev Betting Preview
During the tournament, Hubert Hurkacz did some amazing matches, and the toughest one came out from Jakub Mensik, an 18-year-old Czech, who did a fantastic performance and was just a few games away from upsetting the Polish. Then, Hurkacz demolished quality players to reach another quarter-final in the Grand Slam series. His service is working well, and his groundstrokes from the baseline are doing a great job, too.
Medvedev, on the other side, is not playing his best tennis, which is definitely giving good chances for his opponent. Still, the Russian showed that he could overcome critical situations, just like Djokovic was doing in his games, and he managed to find the winning strategy. We saw that especially well in the match against Emil Ruusuvuori, where he was losing 2-0 but managed to come back and win 2-3. He had his bad moments against Nuno Borges, too, but again, he found the way to win. With a better approach against Hurkacz, he might win another game.

Betting Tip – Hubert Hurkacz vs Daniil Medvedev
Checking the head-to-head games, I think that Hurkacz has some decent chances to upset Medvedev on this one. But what stops me from betting for the Polish player is not the fact that the odds are too high for him, but the fact that Medvedev showed that he could rise as a phoenix when he faced some really tough moments on the court. This happened against Ruusuvuori and then against Auger-Aliassime (despite the 3-0 result). So, taking into account the recent performances, I do not think he will allow losing another match from Hurkacz, who is probably his biggest rival recently, from whom he has 4 losses and just 2 wins. Instead, I will go for over games here, which seems like a good choice, especially when I expect at least 1 tie-break and at least 1 set for each player.
