The next ATP Masters from the calendar is here and we are going to follow the final qualification game between two serious opponents who will meet in Rome – Maximilian Marterer and Richard Gasquet. Both won one game here in Italy and now, in order to reach the main draw, they will need to make one final step. But who will be that player? Let’s see what I think, and have prepared a preview for you.
Maximilian Marterer vs Richard Gasquet Preview
Marterer was very close to being eliminated by one Italian newbie in that tournament. He faced Andrea Picchione and was losing with 0-1 sets before he made the comeback. On the other side, Richard Gasquet had no problems against another young Italian, winning in straight sets. I think these two games in Rome show us the momentum both players have.
The German is a good clay court player but he is far from his best tennis, while Gasquet already did some great matches during the season, including on clay surface. He is probably playing his last season in the professional tennis circuit and he will do his best to reach at least the main draw of this lovely tournament. He is a great one-hand backhander and with his astonishing slice, can be a real danger to anyone.

Betting Tip – Maximilian Marterer vs Richard Gasquet
On the given odds, I strongly decided to go for the French player to win the match. I think that Gasquet is more experienced and he is better on clay, especially with his actual momentum. Struggling against a lower-ranked player, I hardly believe that Marterer will be a real danger to his opponent in this match and we can even see another two-setter win for Gasquet.
Betting Tip: Richard Gasquet
