Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic headline the UFC 309, maybe the biggest PPV event in the MMA world this year. The two veterans compete for the UFC heavyweight title and there’s nothing more exciting than seeing two titans go against one another.
Jon Jones News
Jon “Bones” Jones is an MMA legend and possibly the all-time great. He has a record of 27 wins and one defeat, which was, in fact, a disqualification, as he destroyed Mat Hamill using illegal elbows.
The last he appeared inside the octagon was at the UFC 285 back in March 2023. His rival was Ciryl Gane in a match for the heavyweight title, which he won in the first round via submission. Prior to that, Bones beat Dominick Reyes at the UFC 247 three years earlier. Though, that was a controversial win.
Stipe Miocic News
Miocic was the two-time heavyweight champ in the past, though in his last run, he suffered a nasty KO loss to Francis Ngannou in the second round at the UFC 260. For a moment back then, it seemed that he recovered from Ngannou’s first attack and even took the initiative, but in the end, the Predator ravaged Stipe to win the title.
Miocic’s record is 20 wins and four defeats. All 15 of his stoppage wins were via KO, which shows the power of his strikers. They aren’t as devastating as Ngannou’s, but their output is massive.
Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic Betting Tip
Both guys are veterans, and small details will decide this event, no doubt about that. Though we saw Jones in the ring last year, and Stipe hasn’t fought since 2021, so that leaves a very big question mark regarding his rust. Bones via stoppage is our UFC betting pick here because of that, and the fact that he is slightly more versatile in the ring compared to Stipe.
